Legislation

A walk-through example under 3 minutes
2

First, we talked about songs, out of nowhere. We were at work, sitting in the back office and it went like this:

I’ve had a loop of songs in my head for days.

Like, what songs?

Well, one is True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. That’s my favorite version.

It is good.

There is one song over the years that I hear sometimes on repeat.

Which one?

The Rainbow Connection.

Oh I love that, it makes me cry! Which version?

Kermit’s. Kermit the frog’s version.

That’s the best one.

I also like “I’d like to teach the world to sing”

“In perfect harmon-eeeeeeee!” we sang this part together.

This took about one minute, to discuss.

You ever wonder how long it could take to submit testimony for legislation? Sure you do. Something that could help beavers? Improve water? Both of which help the planet.

I figured out an easy formula so it takes the time of three short conversations.

Let’s walk through it, together.

First go here. This is a bill to protect beavers on certain public lands and watersheds so they can do their work.

You can submit testimony from the chair in your house, in written form.

That was the hardest part.

Then click submit:

And that’s it.

It’s a little tedious but it’s easy. I did it. Actually a lot of people did, and largely in support for this bill. So, it looks good! The meeting is on Tuesday, the 6th.

I just did this as an example of public participation in legislation. Believe me, it took me much longer to figure out how to explain it than actually to do it!

We can sing in perfect harmony for a few minutes here and there.

I’m not sure who took this but it’s a great shot
