Hahah yes I am from Eugene! I do love our water water everywhere. Nature refuges are absolutely wonderful. I took my paddle board but no photos of it. Not a lot to see anyway.

Happy Birthday, Mary Ann!

I didn’t have enough camping trips this year (only three), and now I feel like I had a beautiful and fun vicarious experience.

What fun to see and listen to a family beaver discussion. I’ve ever explored that neck of the woods other than driving past the lake once. It’s huge!

I remember there were huge clouds of some flying bug that unfortunately left their life’s mark as a splat on my windshield. Hope your cold is better and

that your birthday includes a treat with a candle to celebrate another year round the sun. Thank you…I so enjoy your writing.

Thank you, Jill! Where did you go, or enjoy the most of your camping trips?

Luckily the bugs were minimal when I was in the marsh. My cold is better now. It was just a bit much to be outside with it, especially at night.

may be your birthday but this is a gift to all who come upon it and now will google map that lake as just last week read arricle about the removal of dams finally on the Klamath river well the lower ones) allowing back the salmon runs and appreciated by the various tribes...your appreciation of natural world also echoed in memoir im reading "Homestead" about a couple who carved out farming life along the John Day river east of Wasco...your narration even beaver imitations are soothing 😉🤣

Thank you, Appleton! There is a special trout here, the Bull trout, you probably know about it. The dams were removed in the Klamath river, quite a ways south of where I was- the northern tip of Klamath lake. So, I couldn't tell any change in flow, but it's great the dams were removed, a major win. And yeah I've waited my whole life to growl/snort/huff like a beaver for the audio portion of my writing. LOL. John Day river is very beautiful. I did a lazy float and swim trip on a part of it a few years ago.

What a wonderful trip! Happy Birthday to you. I’m sure it was a stunted version of the Loch Ness you heard. Much more common than otters in those parts.
